Recently we had a customer that had a large settlement from their insurance company because of some hail damage on their concrete deck this particular deck had been affected no doubt by large ice balls that had shipped off a top layer of paint. It left a very unsightly undercoating that the owner wanted it replaced as soon as possible. After the conversation with the owner, we determined that the best course of action for him it would be too real the paint and leave the texture. By removing the pain the homeowner was able to preserve the texture that he enjoyed and save nearly $2,500. The preparation was the most important and key part of the success of this particular project. By taking a power washer to the deck we were able to successfully remove the latex tile paint on the deck. This then exposed the concrete texture that had been very effective in creating a non-slip environment in and around the pool. Typically most homeowners choose too grind down the texture and reapply a concrete texture or any poxi of some type. However, this particular homeowner saw value in the texture that was still applied. Staining the naked concrete was a dramatic solution that will require very little upkeep in the future if you can properly prepare your concrete, or if it is a new there are some basic things that would ensure a good job. Old concrete floors must be sprayed clean of debris. doing so will ensure that the stain will properly adhere and last a long time.
After applying the problem amount of state that is desired effect it is important to consider putting on a sealer of some type . It is important to find one that will give you the gloss or s
emi-gloss finish for high gloss finish that you might be looking for. However be warned that these types of losses can make it here yet even more slick. It’s important that you choose something that accomplishes what you set out for.
